Tony Franceschi

Granite Bay, CA

In his own words

I love the sport and love having my family involved. For me family comes first, and fishing comes second; but it is a great way to bring the family together in an activity that everyone can participate in. Win, lose, or draw, I enjoy the journey. I’m looking forward to being a part of APEX. It is something that hasn’t been done before and something that can be a part of the future of fishing. All the guys that are involved this year are paving the way for future generations of anglers.

Highlights

– Multiple top 10 finishes in WWBT, MLF and WON Bass
– Over 15 tournament wins, including 3 major victories.
– 3 Angler of the Year titles

Behind the Angler

Tony’s first exposure to fishing came via his Grandfather, with whom he spent many of his childhood days on the San Francisco Bay fishing for Striped Bass and Halibut. While on a camping trip at a Northern California lake when he was 9 years old he attended the weigh-in of a local bass club event. From that point on he was hooked on bass fishing. Tony began fishing competitively in 1989.

In the Boat

Tony is at home with a Flippin’ stick and a frog rod in his hand. A Dobyns Rods DX795 with a Daiwa Tatula 150 filled with P-Line and a Missile Baits D Bomb or Destroyer is his confidence set up. When the frog bite starts to produce a Dobyns Rods DC736c with a Daiwa Zillion SV TW filled with P-Line X-Braid does the heavy lifting. Tony’s Bass Cat Boat is rigged with Garmin Electronics and a Garmin trolling motor, as well as Power-Poles.
