Apex 2022

Scooter Griffith

In His own words:

I own a fishing guide service – the biggest one in Arizona.
Showing people a good time on the waters of Arizona is a big part of what I do. The passion that Wild West has put out for APEX really drew me to the circuit. They’re expanding all over the West Coast. For years, I’ve had to travel all around, just to make a living. Now, I will just drive the West Coast, fishing water that I like. There is a lot of time, money and effort being put into APEX and that is going to make it as good as it can be. They’re puttin’ it out there, just like we put it out there.

Hometown:

Mesa, AZ

Highlights:

2019 Forrest Wood Cup qualifier, 5-time consecutive TBF National qualifier, 2-time BFL All-American qualifier, owning/operating a successful guide business

Behind the angler:

As a youngster, Scooter’s family spent a lot of time water
skiing. When others were eating lunch or swimming on the ski trips, Scooter was the first to grab a fishing rod and spend his time trying to catch one. When he graduated high school, he and friend began fishing the “Wednesday Nighters” and that was all it took to launch his competitive fishing career.

In the boat:

Scooter doesn’t leave home without a box of Z-Man JackHammer ChatterBaits and plenty of deer sticks to eat.
